So, you have a burning question on your mind and you need the answer quick. You have a few options. Ask someone, ring those men in moustaches or use Wolfram Alpha.
Wolfram Alpha is a new type of much hyped search engine that claims it can understand what you say and that you can ask it a question and it will find you an answer.
There was a lot of hype about Wolfram Alpha prior to it's release, even suggested it could be a 'Google Killer'. But enough from me, I was lucky enough to get the chance to speak to Wolfram earlier and try it out for myself.
That's a good start, it's recognised a common human greeting and responded appropriately.

It's a computational knowledge engine that can help us compute. Sounds great! Time to give it a proper test.
So far so good, it's obviously brushed up a little on Geography and even provided some useful information and a map so we know how to get there.
We can also see that it has learnt highly advanced mathematics.
Also took an A-Level in politics by the look of it.
Unfortunately it hasn't learnt how to tell the time...
But at least it has a sense of humour, wonder what sort of music it listens to...

Summary
So, Wolfram Alpha can tell us who the prime minister is, how to get to Kabul and can replace your calculator, but until it learns how to tell the time and works out who The Beatles are it looks like Wolfram has a long way to go until it lives up to the hype that preceded it.
